Bubs Daily

The calm baby tracker — two taps, one-handed, in the dark, shared properly between both parents.

A baby tracker for feeds, sleeps, nappies, growth, vaccinations and medicines, shared between two parents on separate accounts. Every baby-scoped record carries a shared_with array, and row-level rules admit either the creator or a shared email, so the second parent sees the same data without a second login. The hard parts are the ones you only hit at 3am: writes go through one client path that queues to IndexedDB when there is no signal and replays oldest-first, and the maths has to decide what an overnight sleep, a DST day, or a dose interval off a packet actually means.

What makes it work

  • Only network-class failures queue; every 4xx throws as a permanent answer. Replay is oldest-first, deduped by client id, 2s to 5min backoff, dropped after 20 attempts
  • A sleep counts toward the day it started, but its minutes are apportioned across local midnight: 22:30 to 02:00 gives 90 minutes to yesterday and 120 to today, on 23- and 25-hour DST days too
  • Cry reasons are a fixed list led by 'Not sure', never reordered by frequency and never pre-filled from a feed or nappy log, so the app never states a cause the parent did not

How it gets made

Nine parts, in the same order, every time.

Every build on this site comes out of the same structure, whether it is a game, a ledger or a suite of tools. The method is published in full, and so are the prompts I am allowed to publish.
