What makes it work
- Entitlement is a second, admin-only row holding the facts the delivery gate actually checks, because setting billing_exempt from a browser console would otherwise hand out the product forever
- Stripe webhook rows are claimed before the work and settled after it, so an event is never acknowledged as a duplicate until its side effects have landed
- Referral commission is an immutable ledger keyed on the Stripe invoice id — 20% of what was actually paid, withdrawable after a 30-day hold, and refunds set reversed rather than deleting the row
